Defiant Stand

Too often we win....

Most times we associate winning with ... ..well winning.  It's everything we want.  Its always our goal.   Billions of dollars a year are invested into teams for the sole sake of winning.  In our culture losing just isn't an option.  We may occasionally tell our children to, "Just do the best you can", but in the back of our minds we want them to win.  Just saying the word produces positive feelings.   How could winning ever be too often!?
We fight constant battles within ourselves. Constant battles of thoughts, feelings, and emotions.  Ultimately we are in a fight against our sinful/evil natures, and too often those natures win.  Let us not be complacent in this.  Sin and evil will not always greet us with black and white pin striped jumpsuits, attempting to steal from us in the middle of the night. It will not always approach us with dialogue boxes announcing its intentions. Often times the evil that overcomes us, comes from US!

Our own desires.
Our own impatience.
Our own ingrained behaviors.

Too often WE win!
The old us takes over and we find ourselves angry and cursing at the driver next to us.

Too often WE win!
The old us takes over and we find ourselves worried about a future that is God's and not ours.

Too often WE win!
The old us takes over and we find ourselves hopeless for the day barely able to move let alone do God's will.

We must stand against not only outside threats but also internal ones too.  Especially the ones we create ourselves.

I will add more scriptures into this as the Spirit directs me but I will leave you with this.
As Christians we should be constantly sacrificing ourselves to the being of Christ. (Luke 9:23)
Is true sacrifice a passive activity? Or will it involve a fight, a defiant stand?

About this blog...

This blogs purpose is three fold.

1.) Strengthen Christians dealing with depression, anxiety, and worry with Christians (Proverbs 27:17).
2.) Build up and strengthen the church, through the renewal of the mind, to be more Christ like in every way (Romans 12:2).
3) Overcome and destroy every depressing, anxious, and/or worried thought that challenges that goal (2Corinthians 10:5).
